Abstract

Character education is a necessity to be used as a personality value for all students, not least in Islamic-based Higher Education, because this is a self-existence and reality that must be manifested in a social environment. However, such character education in knowledge transfer to students needs to roll a model to deal with the multidimensional crisis of the life of the nation and state that is happening now. The purpose of this study is to produce, describe the feasibility and describe the national character-oriented character education model at the Private Islamic Religious College which is focused on PTKIS INSIDA East Jakarta. This study uses a development research design. The development model used refers to Borg and Gall's Research and Development (R & D). The quantitative data is taken based on questionnaires for media experts, material and research subjects. While qualitative data is obtained based on the results of student interviews with three study programs (Islamic Education, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Raudhatul Athfal Teacher Education) in East Jakarta PTKIS INSIDA in Jakarta. This research produces external products, namely in the form of character education books to be taught in universities. The results of this study indicate that from the results of expert evaluations the national character-based character education model can be used as a reference material and as an alternative model that can be used in universities, especially Private Islamic Religious Colleges
